Dear Avhirama Prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances at your feet. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Srila Prabhupada is working extremely hard on the translation and commentary of the 2nd volume of 8th Canto and is getting more and more encouraged to translate by the reports from the Library party in India. The system of book distribution is very well organized in America and Prabhupada wants that same efficiency and determination in distributing his books to be demonstrated by the Indian centers. Please find enclosed one letter His Divine Grace just sent me about this most important work. Actually, just before I received this letter, I received another letter where Prabhupada stated, “Book distribution is my main interest.” So I am very eager to dedicate myself to fulfilling this desire of Srila Prabhupada’s and I must humbly beg for your help.

Prabhupada wants there to be a minimum of 300 copies of each book in the BBT warehouse in India. Now, as you know, some books are out of print in America, so in order to plan our printing schedule it is important that I get an inventory from your center, Calcutta. Please be sure to show clearly whether the quantities listed refer to number of books or number of cartons. As soon as I receive all the India inventories, I can make the necessary plans for seeing that books will be printed for India’s needs. If we act cooperatively and please Srila Prabhupada by dedicating ourselves fully to selling his books, then we will get all his mercy and it will be guaranteed that we go back to Godhead after this life.

Prabhupada will be in Los Angeles until June 10th or 11th at the latest. If there is any way you can reply back to Los Angeles by then, I can immediately tell His Divine Grace and he will be very pleased to know what is the actual inventory. In any event, reply as soon as possible and wherever His Divine Grace is on his American tour, I will let him know what is the actual inventory of books in India at this time as he is very eager to have this report. Jai, Prabhu, I hope this finds you well and always absorbed in the ecstacies of serving the lotus feet of Srila Prabhupada. Haribol !

P.S. Please forgive me for writing so late Ramesvara dasa Swami but because of illness with hepatitis BBT Trustee I have just come back to work this very week and have just seen this letter.
