A seengnai man knows it well that the living entity is neither the body nor the mind but he is transcendental to material conception of life. The common man thinks of violence and non-violence in terms of the body and that is a kind of delusion. Everyone is duty bound according to one's occupational duties. A kshatrya is bound to fight for the right cause never mind whoever may be the opposite party. In such discharge of duty one should not be disturbed by annihilation of the material body which is only an external dress of the living soul. All these were perfectly known to Maharaj Yudhisthir but by the will of the Lord he became just like a common man because there was another great idea behind this delusion that the king should be instructed by Bhisma as much as Arjuna was instructed by the Lord Himself. #/div# #/div# please wait#div class="mw-parser-output"##p class="mw-empty-elt"# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TEXT_47"#TEXT 47#/span##/h4# #div class="verse"# #dl##dd#āha rājā dharma-sutaś#/dd# #dd#cintayan suhṛdāṁ vadham#/dd# #dd#prākṛtenātmanā viprāḥ#/dd# #dd#sneha-moha-vaśaṁ gataḥ#/dd##/dl# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="SYNONYMS"#SYNONYMS#/span##/h4# #div class="synonyms"# #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=āha&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#āha#/i# — said; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=rājā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#rājā#/i# — King Yudhiṣṭhira; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=dharma&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#dharma-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=sutaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#sutaḥ#/i# — the son of Dharma (Yamarāja); #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=cintayan&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#cintayan#/i# — thinking of; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=suhṛdām&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#suhṛdām#/i# — of the friends; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=vadham&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#vadham#/i# — killing; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=prākṛtena&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#prākṛtena#/i# — by material conception only; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=ātmanā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#ātmanā#/i# — by the self; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=viprāḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#viprāḥ#/i# — O #i#brāhmaṇa#/i#; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=sneha&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#sneha#/i# — affection; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=moha&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#moha#/i# — delusion; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=vaśam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#vaśam#/i# — being carried away by; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=gataḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#gataḥ#/i# — having gone. #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TRANSLATION"#TRANSLATION#/span##/h4# #div class="translation"# King Yudhiṣṭhira, son of Dharma, overwhelmed by the death of his friends, was aggrieved just like a common, materialistic man.
