Maharaj Parikshit's garlanding the sage with a dead snake was not at all a very serious offence but Sringhee's cursing upon the king was a serious offence. The serious offence was done by a foolish child only therefore he deserved to be pardoned by the Supreme Lord although it was not possible to get free from the sinful reaction. Maharaj Parikshit also did not mind the curse offered to him by a foolish Brahmin on the contrary, he took the full advantage of such an awkward situation and by the great will of the Lord Maharaj Parikshit achieved the highest perfection of life through the grace of Srila Sukhadeva Goswami. Actually it was the desire of the Lord and the party of three namely Maharaj Parikshit, Rishi Samik and his son Shringhee all were instrumental to the fulfilment of the desire of the Lord. So none of them were put into difficulty in the shape of reaction of work because everything was done in relation with Supreme Person Yajna. #/div# #/div# please wait#div class="mw-parser-output"##p class="mw-empty-elt"# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TEXT_49"#TEXT 49#/span##/h4# #div class="verse"# #dl##dd#iti putra-kṛtāghena#/dd# #dd#so 'nutapto mahā-muniḥ#/dd# #dd#svayaṁ viprakṛto rājñā#/dd# #dd#naivāghaṁ tad acintayat#/dd##/dl# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="SYNONYMS"#SYNONYMS#/span##/h4# #div class="synonyms"# #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=iti&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#iti#/i# — thus; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=putra&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#putra#/i# — son; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=kṛta&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#kṛta#/i# — done by; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=aghena&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#aghena#/i# — by the sin; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=saḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#saḥ#/i# — he (the muni); #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=anutaptaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#anutaptaḥ#/i# — regretting; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=mahā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#mahā-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=muniḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#muniḥ#/i# — the sage; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=svayam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#svayam#/i# — personally; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=viprakṛtaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#viprakṛtaḥ#/i# — being so insulted; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=rājñā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#rājñā#/i# — by the King; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=na&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#na#/i# — not; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=eva&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#eva#/i# — certainly; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=agham&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#agham#/i# — the sin; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=tat&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#tat#/i# — that; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=acintayat&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#acintayat#/i# — thought of it. #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TRANSLATION"#TRANSLATION#/span##/h4# #div class="translation"# The sage thus regretted the sin committed by his own son.
