As far as #i#Bhagavad-gītā#/i# is concerned, the Absolute Truth is the Personality of Godhead Śrī Kṛṣṇa, and this is confirmed in every step. In this verse, in particular, it is stressed that the Absolute Truth is a person. That the Personality of Godhead is the Supreme Absolute Truth is also the affirmation of the #i#Brahma-saṁhitā: īśvaraḥ paramaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ sac-cid-ānanda-vigrahaḥ;#/i# that is, the Supreme Absolute Truth Personality of Godhead is Lord Kṛṣṇa, who is the primeval Lord, the reservoir of all pleasure, Govinda, and the eternal form of complete bliss and knowledge. These authorities leave no doubt that the Absolute Truth is the Supreme Person, the cause of all causes. The impersonalist, however, argues on the strength of the Vedic version given in the #i#Śvetāśvatara Upaniṣad: tato yad uttarataraṁ tad arūpam anāmayaṁ ya etad vidur amṛtās te bhavanti athetare duḥkham evāpi yanti#/i#. "In the material world Brahmā, the primeval living entity within the universe, is understood to be the supreme amongst the demigods, human beings and lower animals. But beyond Brahmā there is the Transcendence who has no material form and is free from all material contaminations. Anyone who can know Him also becomes transcendental, but those who do not know Him suffer the miseries of the material world." #$p#The impersonalist puts more stress on the word #i#arūpam#/i#. But this #i#arūpam#/i# is not impersonal. It indicates the transcendental form of eternity, bliss and knowledge as described in the #i#Brahma-saṁhitā#/i# quoted above. Other verses in the #i#Śvetāśvatara Upaniṣad#/i# substantiate this as follows: #/p# #dl##dd#vedāham etaṁ puruṣaṁ mahāntam āditya-varṇaṁ tamasaḥ parastāt#/dd# #dd#tam eva vidvān amṛta iha bhavati nānyaḥ panthā vidyate ayanāya#/dd# #dd#yasmāt paraṁ nāparam asti kiñcid yasmānnāṇīyo na jyāyo 'sti kiñcit#/dd##/dl# #p#"I know that Supreme Personality of Godhead who is transcendental to all material conceptions of darkness. Only he who knows Him can transcend the bonds of birth and death. There is no way for liberation other than this knowledge of that Supreme Person. #$p#"There is no truth superior to that Supreme Person because He is the supermost. He is smaller than the smallest, and He is greater than the greatest. He is situated as a silent tree, and He illumines the transcendental sky, and as a tree spreads its roots, He spreads His extensive energies." #$p#From these verses one concludes that the Supreme Absolute Truth is the Supreme Personality of Godhead who is all-pervading by His multi-energies, both material and spiritual. #/p# #/div# #/div# please wait#div class="mw-parser-output"# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TEXT_7"#TEXT 7#/span##/h4# #div class="devanagari"# #dl##dd#मत्तः परतरं नान्यत्किञ्चिदस्ति धनञ्जय ।#/dd# #dd#मयि सर्वमिदं प्रोतं सूत्रे मणिगणा इव ॥७॥#/dd##/dl# #/div# #div class="verse"# #dl##dd#mattaḥ parataraṁ nānyat#/dd# #dd#kiñcid asti dhanañjaya#/dd# #dd#mayi sarvam idaṁ protaṁ#/dd# #dd#sūtre maṇi-gaṇā iva#/dd##/dl# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="SYNONYMS"#SYNONYMS#/span##/h4# #div class="synonyms"# #p##i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=mattaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#mattaḥ#/i# — beyond Me; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=para&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#para-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=taram&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#taram#/i# — superior; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=na&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#na#/i# — not; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=anyat&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#anyat #a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=kiñcit&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#kiñcit#/i# — anything else; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=asti&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#asti#/i# — there is; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=dhanañjaya&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#dhanañjaya#/i# — O conqueror of wealth; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=mayi&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#mayi#/i# — in Me; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=sarvam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#sarvam#/i# — all that be; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=idam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#idam#/i# — which we see; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=protam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#protam#/i# — is strung; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=sūtre&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#sūtre#/i# — on a thread; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=maṇi&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#maṇi-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=gaṇāḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#gaṇāḥ#/i# — pearls; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=iva&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#iva#/i# — like. #/p# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TRANSLATION"#TRANSLATION#/span##/h4# #div class="translation"# #p#O conqueror of wealth, there is no truth superior to Me.
