Although Ṭhākur Haridāsa happened to take his birth in a Moslem family, he was elevated to the post of #i#nāmācārya#/i# by Lord Caitanya due to his rigidly attended principle of chanting three hundred thousand holy names of the Lord daily: Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. And because he chanted the holy name of the Lord constantly, it is understood that in his previous life he must have passed through all the ritualistic methods of the #i#Vedas#/i#, known as #i#śabda-brahman#/i#. Unless, therefore, one is purified, one cannot take to the principle of Kṛṣṇa consciousness nor become engaged in chanting the holy name of the Lord, Hare Kṛṣṇa. #/dd##/dl# #/div# #div class="verse"# #dl##dd#pūrvābhyāsena tenaiva#/dd# #dd#hriyate hy avaśo 'pi saḥ#/dd# #dd#jijñāsur api yogasya#/dd# #dd#śabda-brahmātivartate#/dd##/dl# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="SYNONYMS"#SYNONYMS#/span##/h4# #div class="synonyms"# #p##i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=pūrva&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#pūrva#/i# — previous; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=abhyāsena&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#abhyāsena#/i# — by practice; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=tena&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#tena#/i# — by that; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=eva&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#eva#/i# — certainly; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=hriyate&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#hriyate#/i# — is attracted; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=hi&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#hi#/i# — surely; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=avaśaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#avaśaḥ#/i# — automatically; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=api&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#api#/i# — also; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=saḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#saḥ#/i# — he; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=jijñāsuḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#jijñāsuḥ#/i# — inquisitive; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=api&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#api#/i# — even; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=yogasya&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#yogasya#/i# — about #i#yoga; #/i# #a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=śabda&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#śabda-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=brahma&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#brahma#i# — ritualistic principles of scriptures; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=ativartate&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#ativartate#i# — transcends.#/i# #/p# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TRANSLATION"#TRANSLATION#/span##/h4# #div class="translation"# #p#By virtue of the divine consciousness of his previous life, he automatically becomes attracted to the yogic principles—even without seeking them.
