The Māyāvādī #i#sannyāsīs#/i# are engaged in the study of #i#sāṅkhya#/i# philosophy, whereas the Vaisnava #i#sannyāsīs#/i# are engaged in the study of #i#Bhāgavatam#/i# philosophy, which affords the proper commentary on the #i#Vedānta-sūtras#/i#. The Māyāvādī #i#sannyāsīs#/i# also study the #i#Vedānta-sūtras#/i#, but use their own commentary, called #i#Śārīraka-bhāṣya#/i#, written by Śaṅkarācārya. The students of the #i#Bhāgavata#/i# school are engaged in devotional service of the Lord, according to #i#pāñcarātrikī#/i# regulations, and therefore the Vaiṣṇava #i#sannyāsīs#/i# have multiple engagements in the transcendental service of the Lord. The Vaiṣṇava #i#sannyāsīs#/i# have nothing to do with material activities, and yet they perform various activities in their devotional service to the Lord. But the Māyāvādī #i#sannyāsīs#/i#, engaged in the studies of #i#sāṅkhya#/i# and #i#Vedānta#/i# and speculation, cannot relish transcendental service of the Lord. Because their studies become very tedious, they sometimes become tired of Brahman speculation, and thus they take shelter of the #i#Bhāgavatam#/i# without proper understanding. Consequently their study of the #i#Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam#/i# becomes troublesome. Dry speculations and impersonal interpretations by artificial means are all useless for the Māyāvādī #i#sannyāsīs#/i#. The Vaiṣṇava #i#sannyāsīs#/i#, who are engaged in devotional service, are happy in the discharge of their transcendental duties, and they have the guarantee of ultimate entrance into the kingdom of God. The Māyāvādī #i#sannyāsīs#/i# sometimes fall down from the path of self-realization and again enter into material activities of a philanthropic and altruistic nature, which are nothing but material engagements. Therefore, the conclusion is that those who are engaged in Kṛṣṇa consciousness are better situated than the #i#sannyāsīs#/i# engaged in simple Brahman speculation, although they too come to Kṛṣṇa consciousness, after many births. #/p# #/div# #/div# please wait#div class="mw-parser-output"# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TEXT_6"#TEXT 6#/span##/h4# #div class="devanagari"# #dl##dd#संन्यासस्तु महाबाहो दुःखमाप्तुमयोगतः ।#/dd# #dd#योगयुक्तो मुनिर्ब्रह्म नचिरेणाधिगच्छति ॥६॥#/dd##/dl# #/div# #div class="verse"# #dl##dd#sannyāsas tu mahā-bāho#/dd# #dd#duḥkham āptum ayogataḥ#/dd# #dd#yoga-yukto munir brahma#/dd# #dd#na cireṇādhigacchati#/dd##/dl# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="SYNONYMS"#SYNONYMS#/span##/h4# #div class="synonyms"# #p##i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=sannyāsaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#sannyāsaḥ#/i# — the renounced order of life; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=tu&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#tu#/i# — but; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=mahā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#mahā-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=bāho&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#bāho#/i# — O mighty-armed one; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=duḥkham&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#duḥkham#/i# — distress; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=āptum&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#āptum#/i# — afflicts one with; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=ayogataḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#ayogataḥ#/i# — without devotional service; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=yoga&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#yoga-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=yuktaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#yuktaḥ#/i# — one engaged in devotional service; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=muniḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#muniḥ#/i# — a thinker; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=brahma&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#brahma#/i# — the Supreme; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=na&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#na #a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=cireṇa&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#cireṇa#/i# — without delay; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=adhigacchati&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#adhigacchati#/i# — attains. #/p# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TRANSLATION"#TRANSLATION#/span##/h4# #div class="translation"# #p#Merely renouncing all activities yet not engaging in the devotional service of the Lord cannot make one happy.
