Certainly #i#Bhagavad-gītā#/i# was never meant for the demonic persons, who would dissipate its value for no one's benefit and would devise all types of interpretations according to personal whims. As soon as the original purpose was scattered by the motives of the unscrupulous commentators, there arose the need to reestablish the disciplic succession. Five thousand years ago it was detected by the Lord Himself that the disciplic succession was broken, and therefore He declared that the purpose of the #i#Gītā#/i# appeared to be lost. In the same way, at the present moment also there are so many editions of the #i#Gītā#/i# (especially in English), but almost all of them are not according to authorized disciplic succession. There are innumerable interpretations rendered by different mundane scholars, but almost all of them do not accept the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, although they make a good business on the words of Śrī Kṛṣṇa. This spirit is demonic, because demons do not believe in God but simply enjoy the property of the Supreme. Since there is a great need of an edition of the #i#Gītā#/i# in English, as it is received by the #i#paramparā#/i# (disciplic succession) system, an attempt is made herewith to fulfill this great want. #i#Bhagavad-gītā-#/i#accepted as it is-is a great boon to humanity; but if it is accepted as a treatise of philosophical speculations, it is simply a waste of time. #/p# #/div# #/div# please wait#div class="mw-parser-output"# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TEXT_2"#TEXT 2#/span##/h4# #div class="devanagari"# #dl##dd#एवं परम्पराप्राप्तमिमं राजर्षयो विदुः ।#/dd# #dd#स कालेनेह महता योगो नष्टः परन्तप ॥२॥#/dd##/dl# #/div# #div class="verse"# #dl##dd#evaṁ paramparā-prāptam#/dd# #dd#imaṁ rājarṣayo viduḥ#/dd# #dd#sa kāleneha mahatā#/dd# #dd#yogo naṣṭaḥ parantapa#/dd##/dl# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="SYNONYMS"#SYNONYMS#/span##/h4# #div class="synonyms"# #p##i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=evam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#evam#/i# — thus; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=paramparā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#paramparā#/i# — by disciplic succession; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=prāptam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#prāptam#/i# — received; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=imam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#imam#/i# — this science; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=rāja&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#rāja-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=ṛṣayaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#ṛṣayaḥ#/i# — the saintly kings; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=viduḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#viduḥ#/i# — understood; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=saḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#saḥ#/i# — that knowledge; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=kālena&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#kālena#/i# — in the course of time; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=iha&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#iha#/i# — in this world; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=mahatā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#mahatā#/i# — great; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=yogaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#yogaḥ#/i# — the science of one's relationship with the Supreme; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=naṣṭaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#naṣṭaḥ#/i# — scattered; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=parantapa&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#parantapa#/i# — O Arjuna, subduer of the enemies. #/p# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TRANSLATION"#TRANSLATION#/span##/h4# #div class="translation"# #p#This supreme science was thus received through the chain of disciplic succession, and the saintly kings understood it in that way.
