Therefore, for those who want to enjoy this material world, the above-mentioned cycle of performing #i#yajñas#/i# is absolutely necessary. One who does not follow such regulations is living a very risky life, being condemned more and more. By nature's law, this human form of life is specifically meant for self-realization, in either of the three ways—namely #i#karma-yoga, jñāna-yoga#/i#, or #i#bhakti-yoga#/i#. There is no necessity of rigidly following the performances of the prescribed #i#yajñas#/i# for the transcendentalists who are above vice and virtue; but those who are engaged in sense gratification require purification by the above-mentioned cycle of #i#yajña#/i# performances. There are different kinds of activities. Those who are not Kṛṣṇa conscious are certainly engaged in sensory consciousness; therefore they need to execute pious work. The #i#yajña#/i# system is planned in such a way that sensory conscious persons may satisfy their desires without becoming entangled in the reaction of sense-gratificatory work. The prosperity of the world depends not on our own efforts but on the background arrangement of the Supreme Lord, directly carried out by the demigods. Therefore, the #i#yajñas#/i# are directly aimed at the particular demigod mentioned in the #i#Vedas#/i#. Indirectly, it is the practice of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, because when one masters the performance of #i#yajñas#/i#, one is sure to become Kṛṣṇa conscious. But if by performing #i#yajñas#/i# one does not become Kṛṣṇa conscious, such principles are counted as only moral codes. One should not, therefore, limit his progress only to the point of moral codes, but should transcend them, to attain Kṛṣṇa consciousness. #/dd##/dl# #/div# #div class="verse"# #dl##dd#evaṁ pravartitaṁ cakraṁ#/dd# #dd#nānuvartayatīha yaḥ#/dd# #dd#aghāyur indriyārāmo#/dd# #dd#moghaṁ pārtha sa jīvati#/dd##/dl# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="SYNONYMS"#SYNONYMS#/span##/h4# #div class="synonyms"# #p##i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=evam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#evam#/i# — thus; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=pravartitam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#pravartitam#/i# — established by the #i#Vedas; #/i# #a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=cakram&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#cakram#i# — cycle; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=na&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#na#i# — does not; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=anuvartayati&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#anuvartayati#i# — adopt; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=iha&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#iha#i# — in this life; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=yaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#yaḥ#i# — one who; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=agha&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#agha-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=āyuḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#āyuḥ#i# — whose life is full of sins; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=indriya&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#indriya-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=ārāmaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#ārāmaḥ#i# — satisfied in sense gratification; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=mogham&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#mogham#i# — uselessly; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=pārtha&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#pārtha#i# — O son of Pṛthā (Arjuna); #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=saḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#saḥ#i# — he; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=jīvati&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#jīvati#i# — lives.#/i# #/p# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TRANSLATION"#TRANSLATION#/span##/h4# #div class="translation"# #p#My dear Arjuna, one who does not follow in human life the cycle of sacrifice thus established by the Vedas certainly leads a life full of sin.
