vraja-rasa-gīta śuni’ prema uthalila
puruṣottama-grāma prabhu preme bhāsāila


SYNONYMS

vraja-rasa-gīta — songs about the mellows of Vṛndāvana-dhāma; śuni’ — hearing; prema — transcendental bliss; uthalilaawakened; puruṣottama-grāma — the place known as Puruṣottama, Jagannātha Purī; prabhu — Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu; premewith ecstatic love; bhāsāila — inundated.


TRANSLATION

Thus Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s ecstatic love was awakened by hearing the songs of Vṛndāvana. In this way He inundated Puruṣottama, Jagannātha Purī, with love of Godhead.
